Terms of service

In these terms, "we" and "us" means Sonikoo Ltd, and "you" means the person using Sonikoo. By creating an account you agree to these terms. Please also read our privacy policy and our refund policy.

What Sonikoo is

Sonikoo is a music practice service. You can play songs with the instruments separated, change the tempo and key, use a click, loop sections and follow on-screen lyrics. It is for your own personal practice and learning, not for commercial use.

Your account

  • You must be 13 or over to create an account. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission, and they should read these terms with you.
  • You need an account to play songs. Please give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
  • An account is for one person.
  • If you joined through a teacher or a music hub, they can see your practice progress.

Free and Premium

  • Free: signed-in users get 30 minutes of playing time a day. Only time when music is playing counts, and it resets at midnight UK time. Playing on several devices at once uses the same allowance.
  • Premium: unlimited playing time and high-quality audio, for the monthly price shown when you subscribe, including any VAT that applies.
  • We may change what each plan includes. If a change makes Premium meaningfully worse for you, we'll tell you in advance and you can cancel.

Paying for Premium

  • Premium is a rolling monthly subscription. It renews automatically each month, on the date you first subscribed, until you cancel.
  • Payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • When you subscribe, you expressly consent to us giving you Premium immediately after your purchase, and you acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right to cancel for a refund once you start using it. See our refund policy.
  • If a payment fails, we'll retry for up to 14 days and you keep Premium meanwhile. If it still fails, you go back to the free plan.
  • If we change the price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it affects you, and you can cancel before then.

Cancelling Premium

  • You can cancel at any time from the Premium page ("Manage subscription"). There's no need to contact us.
  • When you cancel, you keep Premium until the end of the month you've already paid for, and you won't be charged again.

Using Sonikoo fairly

Sonikoo is for your own personal, non-commercial practice. Please don't copy, share or misuse the music or the service. We may suspend or close accounts that misuse Sonikoo.

The music and the site

The songs, recordings, videos and lyrics belong to their owners. The Sonikoo site, player and software belong to us. Using Sonikoo doesn't give you any ownership of them.

If something goes wrong

  • We work hard to keep Sonikoo running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of faults. We may need to pause it for maintenance.
  • Songs may be added to or removed from the catalogue.
  • We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that isn't foreseeable, or for business losses, since Sonikoo is for personal use.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Ending your account

You can stop using Sonikoo at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing info@sonikoo.com. If you have Premium, please cancel it first. We may close accounts that break these terms. If we close a paid account for any other reason, we'll refund the unused part of the month.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If you live in the EU, you keep the protection of the consumer laws of the country where you live.
